NEMA Oil Well Pump Motor
The NEMA series of standard three-phase asynchronous motors for oil well pumps are designed and manufactured in strict accordance with NEMA standards. They typically feature a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) construction, whilst certain models are specifically designed to meet NEMA Type D specifications to deliver exceptionally high starting torque and high slip rates, making them ideally suited to the ‘heavy-load starting and variable-load operation’ conditions typical of oil pumping units. Their mechanical structure has been specially reinforced, utilising advanced techniques such as variable-section conductors to optimise rotor resistance, thereby effectively controlling temperature rise whilst ensuring power performance. The motors typically feature Class F insulation and an IP55 protection rating, ensuring long-term reliable operation in harsh outdoor environments. As the core power source for oil well pumps, these motors not only offer stable performance and high efficiency but can also be specially designed and manufactured to suit specific well conditions, such as customised insulation classes, voltage and frequency, or explosion-proof ratings, to meet the stringent requirements of different oilfields.
